先日、フランスのAmazonで、予約の時点にも関わらず
FIFA18を抜いて、Amazonの年間ゲームランキングの1位を獲得したことを
紹介したマリオの最新作、スーパーマリオオデッセイ。

日本でももちろん人気はあるが、それとは比にならないほどに
海外での3Dマリオの人気は非常に高いが、それにしてもFIFAというサッカーが
盛んな地域で売れそうな作品ですらも、予約段階でぶち抜いてしまうほどの
驚異的な売れ行きとなっているのがスーパーマリオオデッセイである。
日本でも発売後のレビューなどで高評価が相次ぎ、ブレスオブザワイルドと並んで
今年のGOTYを任天堂で争い合うぐらいの勢いになっているわけだが
アメリカでもやはり、マリオの存在感はとんでもないことになっているようだ！

アメリカAmazonのゲーム年間ランキングの1位にスーパーマリオオデッセイがランクイン！1位～6位までに任天堂タイトル5本ランクインで任天堂無双状態に！
まずは海外のゲームメディアで26日に更新された記事を引用する。
Super Mario Odyssey is going to be a total monster when it finally releases tomorrow. The game has already been met with rave reviews from multiple critics and outlets worldwide (its Metascore currently is 97, and on OpenCritic and GameRankings, it is now the highest rated game of all time), and Mario remains the most bankable brand there is in gaming.
Just how much are we expecting Mario to sell? Well, consider Amazon’s yearly charts for game sales- as of right now, Mario is already the second highest selling game of the year on the web retailer (spotted by ResetEra). On Amazon, Mario has outsold all other games from this year except one- and it’s not even out yet.
Incidentally, the game it has not yet managed to outsell is… Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, another Mario and Nintendo Switch game. The number 3 highest selling game of the year, meanwhile, is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, because right now, Nintendo has a total stranglehold on the sales charts.

そして実際に、現時点で見れるアメリカのアマゾンランキングは以下のキャプチャーとなる。

1～3位がPSストアのプリペイドカードというのは、実は訳があるが、ここでは本題から逸れるので触れない。
周辺機器を除いた、ソフトだけの純粋なランキングを見ると、1位がスーパーマリオオデッセイになっているのがわかる。
そして2位にはマリオカート8DX、3位にスイッチ版ブレスオブザワイルド、4位にPS4のホライゾン。
5位にスプラトゥーン2。そして、6位にはなんとWii U版のゼルダが入ってきている。
アマゾンランキングでは、上位が任天堂タイトルで占められている状況でありまさに圧巻の一言である。
もちろん、海外を含めマリオオデッセイの評価は非常に高いものになっているので
今後任天堂恒例のジワ売れが起こるのは間違いないし、まだこのスイッチは最初のホリデーシーズンすら迎えていないのだ。
スイッチというハイブリッド機と、マリオというゲーム界屈指の強力IPで盤石な体制を整えているニンテンドースイッチ。
今年のホリデーシーズンは世界各国で凄まじい光景が展開されそうだ。
